When the damage starts moving
A spreading crack does not always mean immediate replacement.
A rock chip that has started cracking, a crack spreading from a previously repaired chip, or a chip repair that cracked out may still deserve a repair-first assessment. If that is what happened, start with the failed chip repair guide.
If your windshield crack keeps spreading, Crack Arrest may stop it before it gets longer without replacing the windshield. That includes an eligible long windshield crack or a windshield crack spreading after chip repair.
Crack Arrest has one job: stop the crack from spreading. It may help customers trying to stop the damage before replacing the windshield. The crack stays visible, and full crack repair is a different service.
Length, location, edge involvement, depth, contamination, age, previous work, and the windshield’s overall condition all help determine whether Crack Arrest is appropriate.

Crack Arrest is not full crack repair.

Full crack repair fills the crack with resin, cures it, and finishes the surface. Crack Arrest is different: it stops the crack from running farther and leaves the line visible.
