Upright glass meets road debris
Wrangler windshield damage deserves a repair-first look.
The Wrangler's upright windshield gives it the shape owners expect, but it also meets rocks and road debris at a less forgiving angle than a deeply swept-back windshield. A small star, bullseye or combination break can start spreading with temperature change, vibration and normal driving.
I repair windshield damage on JK and JL Wranglers throughout the Twin Cities. I look at the impact point, legs, depth, contamination, edge involvement and the complete length of any crack before I start.
I structurally repair cracks up to 10 inches. Repair keeps the windshield, seal and existing camera mounting relationship in place; it does not make the damage invisible.
Mopar Gorilla Glass
Check the limited warranty before anybody touches it.
Mopar offers certain Wrangler windshields made with Corning Gorilla Glass and states that the glass is backed by a two-year limited warranty. Coverage depends on the windshield, vehicle, damage and current written terms.
Before repair, photograph the damage and the windshield markings, find the purchase or installation paperwork, and contact the dealer or warranty administrator. Do not assume a rock impact is covered—and do not give up a possible claim by authorizing work before asking.

If replacement becomes necessary
Match the windshield to the Jeep—not just the model name.
Wrangler replacement options can differ by model year, generation, branding, glass construction and equipment. OEM and aftermarket are not one universal yes-or-no decision. Ask the provider to identify the exact glass and explain how it matches your VIN and original features.
If a forward-facing camera is mounted at the windshield, replacement can change the camera’s position. Confirm the current Jeep procedure and any required calibration in writing. Repair normally avoids removing the glass and disturbing that relationship.

Why do Jeep Wrangler windshields get so many rock chips?
The Wrangler windshield is relatively upright, so road debris can strike it more directly than a deeply raked windshield. Damage still has to be evaluated by its actual size, depth and location.
Do you repair JK and JL Wrangler windshields?
Yes. I repair chip and crack damage on both JK and JL generations, including cracks up to 10 inches.
Should I repair Mopar Gorilla Glass right away?
First check whether the windshield and the specific damage may qualify under Mopar's current limited warranty. Preserve your documentation and ask the dealer or warranty administrator before authorizing repair that could affect a claim.
Does a Wrangler windshield have to be replaced with OEM glass?
That is a replacement decision, not a repair requirement. If replacement becomes necessary, verify the correct glass, markings, options and any camera requirements for your VIN before choosing OEM or aftermarket glass.
Will windshield repair require ADAS calibration?
Repair normally leaves the windshield and camera mounting position in place. Replacement on a camera-equipped Wrangler may require vehicle-specific calibration procedures, so confirm that with the replacement provider.
